Roswell UFO Explained: Pentagon Report Links Sightings to Secret Military Program

Roswell UFO Sightings Explained by Secret Pentagon Program

A newly released Pentagon report suggests that many UFO sightings, including the famous Roswell case, were not alien encounters but people unknowingly witnessing secret U.S. government projects.

The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which was created in 2022 to study unidentified aerial phenomena, reviewed investigations dating back to 1945. It concluded that there is no evidence that the United States ever recovered alien spacecraft or bodies.

Instead, many reports likely came from civilians or military personnel observing classified technology. For example, the Roswell incident in 1947, often linked to an alien crash, is now explained by Project Mogul—a top-secret operation involving high-altitude balloons carrying microphones to detect Soviet nuclear tests.

The report emphasized that most sightings were “ordinary objects or natural phenomena” that people misidentified. While some cases remain unsolved, AARO said that with more reliable data, most could eventually be explained.

Looking ahead, the Pentagon is also testing portable UFO detection kits called Gremlin. These systems, currently being trialed in Texas, use advanced sensors inside protective cases. They could be deployed in areas with frequent reports of unidentified phenomena, helping investigators quickly collect reliable data.

Timothy Phillips, the acting director of AARO, explained: “If objects are reported near sensitive military sites or within restricted airspace, we need to know exactly what they are.”

This new approach suggests the U.S. is focusing less on extraterrestrial speculation and more on improving national security by identifying what is really in the skies.
