A resident of the U.S. state of North Carolina named Kay recently contacted the “Singular Fortean” society for the study of anomalous phenomena and shared a story that happened to her in the fall of 2024.
That evening, Kay was driving her car along a rural highway at about 90 km/h when she suddenly saw a deer ahead on the roadside, seemingly ready to jump onto the road right in front of her. She realized that she simply would not have time to brake if that happened. But the deer had no intention of running — instead, it stayed on the roadside and then calmly crossed the highway after the car had already passed it.
Kay was surprised by such “reasonable” behavior, since deer usually act much more erratically. But soon she saw something much stranger. She saw a huge orange UFO sphere flying across the sky from right to left, not far above the treetops. It moved along a very straight trajectory and soon disappeared into the forest.
“I couldn’t believe it! I drove to the end of the road, turned onto another one, and a few seconds later I saw something like a huge orange fireball moving across the sky from right to left. It was amazing — I had never seen anything like it… but I felt relieved,” Kay said.
Somehow, the woman concluded that the deer’s behavior and the orange UFO were connected. When she got home, she began searching online for information about orange UFOs and discovered that in ufology such objects are considered friendly to humans and even protective. In particular, some eyewitnesses, when seeing bright orange spheres, reported feeling a sense of friendliness coming from them, as if through some kind of telepathy.
Perhaps such spheres emit a special “calming” energy that is sensed by both humans and animals — which is why the deer did not recklessly dash across the road in front of the fast-moving car, but instead waited calmly on the roadside until she passed.
