On March 15, 2018, 16-year-old Isabel Gonzalez, along with three of her friends, was driving down a street in San Jose, California, USA. The oldest in the group was 22-year-old Brandon Gomez, who was behind the wheel. All of them, including the driver, were not only under the influence of marijuana but also heavily intoxicated. It was no surprise, then, that at some point Brandon lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a tree on the side of the road. Brandon and Isabel died on the spot, while the other two teens were injured and taken to the hospital.
The crash site was photographed by police, and the images were included in their report. Later, Isabel’s mother, 43-year-old Melinda Martinez, requested permission to view the photos and read the report. On one of the photos, she noticed strange, whitish, translucent figures resembling human forms standing near the tree amidst the wreckage of the car.
“I wanted to know everything she went through, whether it was good or bad. They gave me a few photos, and as we were looking through them, I said, ‘Oh my God, those are Angels.’ I felt like my daughter was so special that God allowed us to experience this moment. I think if I hadn’t seen those photos, I wouldn’t be here today because I wanted so badly to be with her,” Melinda said.
Upon enlarging the fragment of the photo, one can indeed see what appears to be blurred figures of two or three people in white robes standing close together. Some people online believe it’s just an optical illusion, while others are convinced these are angels. There are also those who think the figures are neither angels nor an illusion but rather the souls of the deceased, Isabel and Brandon.
