In U.S. media, curious publications continue to emerge about UFOs, particularly regarding the imminent presentation of a comprehensive report on UFOs by the Pentagon (U.S. Department of Defense), scheduled for June 25, 2021.
Last Tuesday, in an interview with The Washington Post, Luis Elizondo, former director of the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), stated that UFOs have repeatedly rendered U.S. nuclear systems inoperative. Officially, the Pentagon has never referred to UFOs as “Unidentified Flying Objects,” preferring the more “scientific” term “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena” (UAP).
Elizondo explicitly said:
“We’ve had incidents where these UAPs interfered with and actually disabled our nuclear systems. Some might suggest they were acting peacefully or with good intentions, but in this context, we have evidence that in other countries, these UAPs also interfered with nuclear technologies, including activating them and putting them online. I think there is now enough data to demonstrate their interest in our nuclear technology, including their ability to disrupt it.”
Currently, Elizondo no longer works at the Pentagon, and the AATIP program has been shut down. However, a new team, the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF), was established last year to replace it. This group prepared the major report on UFOs, which is to be presented to the U.S. Congress.
Elizondo stated that, in his opinion, there are some key characteristics common to UFO sightings:
“We observe their interest in our nuclear capabilities, and we also note something very strange: they seem to have a connection to water. These objects tend to be seen in or around water.”
UFOs are often spotted near nuclear power plants, nuclear weapons testing sites, or nuclear weapon storage facilities.
Elizondo also shared observations about UFO technological capabilities:
“First, there’s hypersonic speed. The ability to instantly change direction. When I say instantly, I mean it—humans can withstand forces of about 9 g, and some of our best aircraft can handle about 16 g. But these objects make turns at 3, 4, or even 600 g during flight.”
“You know, there are some known human technologies that can operate very quickly. But, again, you wouldn’t expect a hypersonic aircraft to make a sharp 90-degree turn. To put this into context, for our SR-71 Blackbird flying at 2,200 miles per hour to turn right, it would require approximately half the state of Ohio to complete the maneuver.”
Elizondo also noted UFOs’ remarkable camouflage:
“We call this low observability.”
In the interview, Elizondo discussed what these objects might represent:
“Until recently, there were really only three possibilities for what these could be. The first possibility was that this is some secret U.S. technology that we’ve somehow managed to keep hidden from even ourselves for an extended period. The second option is that it is some kind of foreign adversarial technology that has somehow managed to leapfrog ahead of our nation’s capabilities despite our extensive and robust intelligence apparatus. And, of course, the third option is something entirely different—an entirely new paradigm.”
Referring to UFO sightings since the 1950s and addressing claims that Russia or China might be involved, Elizondo concluded:
“If you look at this from a historical perspective, it just doesn’t make sense that China in the 1950s would have had all of this technology, including next-generation capabilities, and for the last 70 years—despite the billions we’ve invested in intelligence infrastructure—they’ve managed to escape our detection.
In fact, China is a country that has stolen quite a bit—spending significant time trying to steal technology from us. So, the question is: if China truly had this technology, would they need to steal so much basic technology from other countries?”
