A team of UFO researchers from Manitoba failed to identify the mysterious appearance of an object in the sky over Prince Edward Island on Boxing Day.
A long, smoking spiral was captured on video by Tony and Marie Quigley from the Northern Region. The researchers from Manitoba used digital equipment to enhance the images, ruling out meteors, satellites, and aircraft, but were unable to explain what the Quigley family had recorded.
Chris Rutkowski, head of the Winnipeg Centre for Ufological Research, stated that the Quigleys were among hundreds of Canadians who annually witness something inexplicable in the sky.
“They witnessed a very interesting phenomenon and became one of the hundreds of Canadians each year who observe UFOs,” he said. “They were lucky to capture something truly impressive.” Only a third of unidentified flying objects receive an explanation.
This incident will be included in the group’s annual report in a couple of weeks. Canada’s Ministry of the Environment and the Transportation Safety Board also studied the video but could not explain the phenomenon.
The most plausible explanation might be that some jet fighter was dumping fuel.
