This video surfaced online today but was actually filmed back in August 2020. 52-year-old military contractor Andy Segobia was on his way to work at El Mirage Airfield, California, when he suddenly saw a dark sphere hovering in the sky.
El Mirage Airfield, by the way, is utilized by the military company General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, which manufactures the MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and strike drones.
The UFO was approximately 1.5-2 meters in diameter and hovered quite low to the ground, at around 20 meters in height. Andy quickly grabbed his smartphone and began filming the UFO. The footage turned out remarkably clear for a typical UFO video.
“At first, I thought it was a weather balloon. But as I got closer, I noticed it wasn’t tethered to anything. There were no signs of movement, no sound; it just hung there.”
After Andy filmed the object, he drove to the building he needed to work in. The building was very close to where the UFO was hovering, and Andy was inside for less than a minute. But when he came out, the UFO had vanished.
“We (Andy and his supervisor) entered this building, which was just 15 feet away, took one measurement, came back out the door, and the UFO was gone. It had only been about 30 seconds. I looked around; it was a clear day, I would’ve seen it drift away. It either dissolved or just shot out of there. I was disappointed I didn’t capture that moment.”
Juan Valdes, Andy’s supervisor, confirmed he was there and saw the object but didn’t want to add anything further.
“I looked around, even went closer to check if it landed. But it was gone, nowhere in sight. If I had stayed there another minute, I might have seen it move away or disappear,” Andy lamented.
Andy says he regularly sees drone aircraft in the shape of planes taking off and landing on El Mirage’s runway, and that General Atomics works there on drone creation and repair.
But he said the sphere was unlike anything he’d ever seen there before.
“When I was filming, it appeared silver in color. But it was a black sphere. It emitted some sort of heat or something like that, some kind of wave that I couldn’t discern inside the sphere. It was like when you’re driving to Vegas and it looks like water on the road; it was like that. It emitted some kind of wave, I assume it was heat.
I saw it up close. There was just a fence and a small patch of land between us. It was beyond their property out in the middle of the desert. I don’t know what it was doing there. It struck me as odd because it just hovered there beyond the territory. It was very quiet. The day was clear.”
The object captured by Andy Segobia closely resembles the sphere that was filmed in Iraq several years ago. And, by the way, it was captured by the same MQ-9 Reaper drone.
