In November 2024 during a heavy thunderstorm, possibly falling in a family’s garden in the Phatthalung province. The stones were not immediately noticed by the couple, but they first observed an unusual charred patch on the ground, as if from a hot fire. “That day, around two o’clock at night, a heavy rainstorm with thunder and lightning started, and then a fire began outside. In the morning, I saw a fallen tree and traces of the fire on the ground. I approached the fire site, from which smoke was rising, and covered it with earth,” says Vichit Siripuvadon.
However, two weeks later, he and his wife, Manirat, came back to this place and for some unclear reason decided to dig it up. They found many strange black stones with a peculiar shape and porous structure under the ash. The total weight of the collected stones was about 20 kg. Manirat cut her hand on the sharp edge of one of the stones, and at that moment, she felt not only severe pain but also intense heat. However, the discomfort quickly disappeared when the bleeding stopped. The collected stones were taken home, and about a month passed. Manirat says that during this time, thanks to the stones, she became more energetic, and her mental state improved.
They showed the strange stones to their neighbors, and they agreed that these were something unusual. Someone even noticed patterns on the stones resembling numbers, while others said these numbers were probably lucky. It is still unclear what these stones are, whether they are fragments of a meteorite or melted parts of a satellite or rocket. Internet users have already suggested that these stones are more likely not meteorite fragments, but natural glass formed from a strong lightning strike on sand.
