A strange cow murder occurred on a farm in Canada. American ufologist Chuck Zhukovsky published on his blog a case of the unusual death of a cow from the Canadian ranch Spruce View Acres in Alberta. He was informed of this by the ranch owners themselves, who wrote an email. Later, Chuck contacted these people to learn more details and received photos of the deceased animal.
On the evening of June 10, 2024, ranch owners Tracy and Steve Kushnerik found one of their cows lying dead in the meadow. The visible wounds on the animal’s body included only a removed tongue and a cleanly cut section of skin from its face.
This case suspiciously resembles typical cases of cattle mutilation usually recorded in the United States and some other countries.
The ranch owners immediately contacted the fish and wildlife protection service, suspecting a predator attack, and also contacted a local veterinary clinic, requesting an autopsy and samples for investigation.
Later, they also called the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, reporting the mutilation of their animal. However, they were only laughed at, and then told that an officer would be sent for investigation, but no one ever arrived.
In the course of investigating the possible causes of the incident, it was revealed that on June 9, the day before the dead cow was discovered, the ranch owner heard the cows making suspicious “noises and being fussy” in the evening.
This seemed strange to him, but he did not go to the herd to find out the reason. Now it turned out that the cow was killed that very evening.
The healthy 9-year-old cow named Spruce Trinity was a purebred Simmental, which was being prepared for carrying a calf next year. The value of this cow was approximately $10,000.
According to Chuck Zhukovsky, he had previously studied similar cases of cattle mutilation in 2023 on a ranch in Texas, where 6 cows were killed in a similar manner, and a week before that in Oregon, where 1 cow was killed.
He also writes that such cases never occur in isolation, and if one animal is killed in one place, there will be (or have been) at least two more such fatal mutilations in that area.
At the same time, such cases are not often reported in the media or studied because ranch owners prefer to keep them quiet. “They have their reasons for this, and I respect their choice,” writes Chuck.
Upon examining the cow’s body, the owners found that its abdomen was unusually bloated, as if a lot of gas had accumulated, although not much time had passed since the animal’s death. Additionally, no flies or larvae were observed on the damaged part of the face.
No signs typical of predator attacks were found on the cow’s body, and there were no signs of the animal resisting. The grass around the carcass was undamaged, and there were no traces of blood or signs of people or machinery. It seems that the cow was killed in one place and then somehow moved to this area of the pasture.
When the autopsy was performed, it was concluded that the cause of death was definitely not a predator like a cougar, bear, wolf, coyote, or raptors. The cow’s flesh was also not damaged by scavengers. Samples from the cow’s body, including from the damaged areas, were taken.
By June 14, there were still no flies or larvae observed on the cow’s body. The owner particularly noted this fact.
A mysterious lump was found on the skin in one place, from which a thin stream of blood was oozing. Besides this, no other wounds were found on the carcass except for the face.
Five days after the cow’s body was discovered, it was finally removed from the site, and it turned out that there were absolutely no traces of blood underneath the carcass.
Since the discovery of the dead and mutilated horse named Snippy (also known as Lady) in Colorado in 1967, there have been about 10,000 similar cases in the United States alone, many of which have been investigated. And it is still unknown who is responsible for these and how they are carried out.
