One of the strongest critical arguments voiced by cryptozoologists, particularly those searching for yetis, is that if yetis and other Bigfoots truly existed, we would regularly find their skeletal remains in forests or mountains. After all, if they are material beings capable of leaving tracks and occasionally being captured on video, where are their remains? Hunters and tourists sometimes stumble upon the remains of forest animals, but never yetis (Paranormal News – paranormal-news.ru).
However, some cryptozoologists have a hypothesis to counter this argument. They suggest that yetis are intelligent enough to practice burial rituals for their dead. They bury their dead in the ground or cover them with stones. There are even witnesses to this behavior! According to the “Bigfoot Evidence” blog, one tourist in the northwestern United States claimed to have personally seen a group of three yetis burying the dead body of a fourth in the ground. After burying the body, they placed several large stones on the grave. Apparently, this was either a ritual or a way to protect the remains from scavengers like foxes or bears.
Another account from the 1960s came from a resident of northern California. He claimed to have seen four yetis in the wilderness carrying a large skeleton of a humanoid creature, possibly the remains of one of their own.
In 1992, a similar incident occurred in the state of Oregon near Bagby Hot Springs. Tourists saw two yetis by the river carrying the body of a dead yeti. They placed the body on a rocky shore and began piling stones over it until it was completely concealed. Unfortunately, by the time Bigfoot researchers arrived at the site, a flood had washed everything away, making it impossible even to locate the burial site.
There is even a video allegedly showing a yeti grave in a forest—a strange mound surrounded by seemingly deliberately fallen trees. In 2010, another story emerged of a person who claimed to have seen a Bigfoot carrying a small, hairy corpse, which appeared to be a dead infant. The Bigfoot placed the body into a hollow tree but quickly retrieved it and disappeared into the forest when it realized it was being watched.
In 2014, a video surfaced showing a group of Bigfoots performing a burial for a deceased member. The video, filmed by a park ranger in the High Sierra of California, was uploaded to a website but was mysteriously removed within days, and no one seemed to have made a copy.
There are also numerous reports of people who allegedly found the bodies of dead Bigfoots. For example, one hunter claimed to have seen a Bigfoot carcass in the Oregon forest but couldn’t transport it due to its immense weight. By the time he returned with a vehicle, the body had disappeared, leaving behind numerous yeti tracks, suggesting that its kin had retrieved it.
A similar event was documented in British Columbia, Canada, in 1960. Researcher Peter Byrne heard a story from two Indigenous fishermen who came across the body of a dead Sasquatch on a trail. As they examined it, loud howls and roars erupted around them, prompting the fishermen to leave. When they returned with forest rangers hours later, the body was gone.
American newspapers often reported on discoveries of remains of “unusual humans.” In 1912, The New York Times wrote about the Peterson brothers, who found a cemetery of strange skeletons on their farm in southwestern Wisconsin. These skeletons belonged to humanoid beings over 2 meters tall but with skulls distinct from human ones.
In 1924, newspapers wrote about two skeletons over 2 meters tall found near Lovelock, Nevada. These humanoid skeletons still had remnants of skin covered with thick reddish hair from head to toe. In 1972, another unusual skeleton over 2 meters tall was discovered in British Columbia and sent to the Wales Museum, but it mysteriously disappeared in transit, as did all the other remains described above.
Such stories of strange skeletons and skulls from forests number in the dozens. However, not a single skeleton has ever made it to a museum. It feels as if someone is deliberately ensuring that yeti remains never reach scientists.
