The killer claims that every morning he prayed to a goblin doll, and that’s why the police couldn’t catch him for so long.
The police in the city of Pitalito, Colombia, spent eight months trying to capture 23-year-old Kevin Orlando Arias Forero, who is accused of killing two people.
In April 2024, Forero attacked photographer Jason Fernando Diaz Fieppo, and he died, while on the way Forero injured another person, who later died in the hospital.
The police struggled to track down the criminal, but somehow, he managed to avoid them for all eight months. Recently, however, he was finally caught when police noticed a suspicious man on a motorcycle.
During the search, they found him with a firearm, tarot cards, an angel figurine, and a cloth doll shaped like a green goblin – a mythical creature resembling a goblin, as it’s known in Spanish-speaking countries.
When one of the police officers asked him why he needed this doll, the killer admitted that it was the “devilish goblin,” which protected him from the police.
He then explained that every morning at 4:00, he prayed to the figure, but today he had accidentally forgotten.
He believes that the goblin, due to this, “took away his protection,” and that’s why the police caught him today.
At the moment, it is reported that the criminal has been placed in custody on charges of manslaughter and illegal possession of weapons, but there is no information yet on what the police will do with his talisman doll.
