Ghosts of children were caught in photos taken inside the Myrtles Plantation in Louisiana.
Recently, two photos featuring supposed ghosts, taken inside the Myrtles Plantation—a popular tourist building constructed in the late 18th century in Louisiana, USA—gained popularity on social media.
One photo was published a year ago but did not attract much attention at the time. It shows tourists standing next to a mirror, and on the right side of the photo, a semi-blurred silhouette of a child is clearly visible.
It is believed that this could be one of the children of Clark Woodruff and his wife Sarah, who managed the plantation in the early 19th century. They had three children, but two died of yellow fever.
Tourists have been claiming for many years that the Myrtles Plantation is haunted, including by the ghosts of two children. Additionally, the ghost of an African American slave named Chloe is said to haunt the plantation. According to legend, she was hanged as punishment.
In the second photo, posted two weeks ago, a ghost can be seen in a mirror reflection. When the fragment is enlarged, a semi-transparent silhouette of a young woman or girl with long dark hair can be seen behind the figure of a tourist.
Both photos were published on the plantation’s official Facebook page and claim to be authentic. Among the comments was a person who had previously visited the Myrtles Plantation and witnessed something anomalous—an unexplained significant drop in temperature in one spot in the plantation’s yard.
“Once, I was there in August, and it was about 95 degrees (35 degrees Celsius) outside with 100% humidity. During a walk around the mansion grounds, the temperature suddenly dropped to around 50 degrees (10 degrees Celsius) in one small area in the middle of a large treeless area. I couldn’t explain this, as there were no objects nearby that could explain such a significant temperature drop.”
Due to the frequency of ghost sightings, the Myrtles Plantation has long been vying for the title of “the most haunted house in the USA.”
