In some homes, it’s not human ghosts that dwell, but rather the ghosts of domestic animals, mostly dogs or cats.
They often resemble not the classic ghosts (semi-transparent beings), but rather a shadowy silhouette.
Cat-Ghost
According to former American soldier-turned-journalist Jazz Shaw, who writes for outlets like National Review and MSNBC, an encounter with such a ghost once significantly affected his family.
Starting in November 2020, paranormal phenomena began to intrude into their lives: it began with UFO sightings, which he and his wife witnessed five times over three months.
Then in spring 2021, a shadowy creature resembling a cat took residence in their home. Jazz first encountered it one evening while ascending the stairs to the second floor. He noticed what looked like a black cat swiftly passing into the bathroom.
He dismissed the incident initially, as they had two black cats in the house, nothing unusual. But every few weeks, he saw the same fleeting silhouette of a black cat in different parts of the house.
It wasn’t until many weeks later that Jazz found it odd, as the observed black cat always vanished quickly, its silhouette blurry, as if it were an indistinct shadow.
Only much later did he realize his own cats were not involved. It happened when he noticed the black cat on the stairs again, and upon descending, saw his two black cats peacefully napping on the couch next to his wife.
He stared at the cats with a strange expression, prompting his wife to ask what was wrong. Finally, he told her about his observations of the shadow cat in the house. His wife then smiled and said, “Oh, you’ve seen the ghost cat too!”
It turns out, she had also noticed the creature in the house and had refrained from mentioning it to avoid worrying him.
Dog-Shadow
Recently, an unnamed American recounted in Derek Hayes’s podcast about his encounter with a dog-shadow. He claimed that one evening, a shadowy dog-like creature appeared in his bedroom and jumped onto his bed, eventually settling on his chest like an affectionate pet.
Following this, others began sharing sightings of dog-shadows as well. Sometimes these beings are glimpsed only briefly, out of the corner of one’s eye, and are not frightening. However, at times, shadow dogs appear downright terrifying, akin to hellhounds.
One person recounted stepping outside their home at night to breathe cool air and immediately spotting what seemed like a dark figure of a dog nearby. It sat with its back to the person. When the person called out to it, the dog turned its head, revealing bright red glowing eyes on its indistinct shadowy face.
Then, the dog stood up and lunged towards the person! Barely making it back inside and closing the door, the person distinctly heard a noise as if the dog had collided with their mailbox, and indeed found a large dent and bite marks on the mailbox the next morning.
Another witness, a woman, described seeing a blurry shadow dog in her elderly mother’s house. Strangely, the dog appeared faceless, lacking a muzzle! It darted into the bathroom and… vanished.
