Residents of the American state of Nebraska have recently encountered a mysterious individual, and they still cannot figure out who or what he is: a ghost? A local psycho? Or perhaps, a maniac? The thing is, several people have been involved in car accidents, and each time, this same man is the first to approach the victims, immediately after the crash. Logically, it’s almost impossible for him to be there by accident, as it wasn’t always on the same section of the road. Could he be causing these accidents himself? Or is he a ghost?
It all started in early December 2024, when at night, on a busy highway in the northern part of the Douglas County area, a man named Garrison Beach was driving with his wife Skylar in their car when they suddenly noticed a large metal object on the road. He couldn’t stop in time, so he swerved to the side of the road, crashing through a guardrail, and his Toyota Camry ended up in a shallow ditch.
Fortunately, they weren’t injured, but as they struggled to get out of the ditch and back onto the road, they saw another car parked with its lights on.
Inside, there was an unknown man (his appearance isn’t described in the media), who immediately asked them, “Are you okay? I’ve already called an ambulance for you.”
He then offered to let them sit in his car while they waited for the ambulance, but they felt an uneasy threat from him and declined. “It was very strange. And as soon as we told him ‘no, we’ll wait for the police,’ he just turned and walked back to his car,” Skylar Beach recounts. The man disappeared as suddenly as he had appeared, and they didn’t even manage to ask his name.
In the following days, it was revealed that another man, named Kyle Sorenson, had also encountered this strange man. Kyle, a friend of the Beaches, was driving down the same highway when he suddenly saw a small children’s bicycle in the middle of the road. He couldn’t stop or swerve in time and ran over it. “I ran over a children’s bike, which was right in the middle of the road. And when I looked in the rearview mirror, I saw someone [slightly further north] on the Poni-Powd road. He approached me from behind, and this man said he was checking to see if everything was alright with me,” Kyle Sorenson recounts.
Kyle later told his wife about the strange encounter, and when she drove down the same highway, she passed the same mysterious man who was standing by the other car involved in the accident. The damaged car had oil leaking onto the road. Three incidents in two weeks. This wasn’t a coincidence. However, it seems there were more such cases, but only these three incidents involved people familiar with each other, and they shared their stories with journalists.
Two weeks later, Kyle Sorenson drove down the same section of the highway and, as he passed the spot where the Beaches had earlier crashed, he saw the same mysterious man standing there. “I really didn’t want to get involved with this man, but I reported him to the police. I don’t want to accuse him of intentionally causing accidents, but I want to draw attention to the fact that his behavior is strange,” Kyle said. “We definitely want answers to the question of why he’s doing what he’s doing.
We just don’t want this to continue with other people, or for something even worse to happen,” Skylar Beach added.
According to the local sheriff, they are currently investigating several strange incidents where foreign objects were found along the road. The police are checking whether someone intentionally scattered them there or if they fell by accident.”
