A resident of the British town of Lancashire, whose house is notorious in the area, claims he constantly receives SMS messages from his wife, who passed away six years ago. Frank Jones, 59, bought the house back in 1996. As soon as he moved there with his wife and children, strange things began happening: someone unseen moved furniture around and pulled blankets off them while they were asleep. The same events had happened to the previous owners of the house, who, 30 years ago, told neighbors they heard breathing at night and sensed a foul odor.
When purchasing the house, Jones was confident all the ghost stories were pure fiction. However, time made him think otherwise. The year 2002 brought Frank two tragedies: first, his 32-year-old son died of brain cancer, and three months later, a heart attack took the life of his 69-year-old wife, Sadie. On the day of his wife’s death, Jones first felt reluctance to enter his own home. But at that moment, his mobile phone rang. He didn’t answer in time, and when he later checked the missed call information, he was horrified to find the call came from the house phone—although no one had been home.
Since then, he frequently receives strange SMS messages, which, in his opinion, are sent from the afterlife by Sadie. The messages contain text similar to what his wife used to write during her lifetime, and the number from which the SMS messages come cannot be identified. His conviction that they are sent by his late wife is reinforced by the fact that she, inseparable from her mobile phone during her life, was buried with her beloved device.
